Spaghetti and Love: "The Perfect Pairing"...

So over the weekend, I had the opportunity to share the mic with one of Brown Liquor & Cigars most loved guest, David… As we discussed life; dating; love and marriage, he used an analogy of how spaghetti is similar to a man preparing for marriage… In his analogy he breaks it all down, that sometimes men may strongly desire the taste of spaghetti, however when it’s placed in front of them, they’re not ready to eat… Like spaghetti, there are many times the woman a man wants to marry is placed in front of him, yet he’s just not ready to marry…

As I thought about it, there are many reasons why a man may choose not to partake in the spaghetti… Sometimes the temperature isn't right… There are others time when the seasoning hasn’t set in just yet… And then there are those times when spaghetti just taste better at a later date… So where am I going with this?

Well some of you ladies are currently dating a man in which you want to marry… You’re wondering if there is something wrong you; him; or if the two of you aren’t meant to be together… Have you ever thought maybe he truly wants to marry you, but believe you’re not ready just yet??? You’re hot tempered; sometimes cold and then after a few days, you end up in the perfect mood… Then there are you women who are in a relationship with a man in which you want to marry, but your relationship hasn’t evolved into taking the next step into marriage… You’re not financially stable; possess numerous insecurities; hardly even know each other… And lastly there are those of you women who are in a relationship with a man you want to marry, but the time isn’t right… Sure he wants to marry you, but when it feels right for both of you… Maybe there is nothing wrong with you, but he recognizes everything is wrong with him… He needs to sit and allow life; maturity; and growth to marinate into something you will enjoy…

What I know for sure is… There are men who haven’t given up on marriage or you… They’re with a woman in which they love; cherish and desire, yet they’re not ready to partake in a bowl of commitment… Doesn’t mean anything is wrong with the woman, just means he’s not ready… Love doesn’t make anyone ready for marriage, just like salt doesn’t make spaghetti taste good. Too much salt can ruin a great meal, just like jumping into marriage can ruin a life… Don’t make it personal, it could be you that’s creating the hold, but it could be him… Allow him time to decide when he wants to marry, if you’re unwilling to wait, don’t force him… You deserve better than a man you had to force to eat (Marry You)…
